Nature’s Kiln Bakery, my senior Capstone project, is a fully sustainable bakery that combines modern motivations with ancient techniques to build a strong example of a sustainable and profitable business model for future practices in the industry. The bakery is partnered with local farms and recycles/composts all food waste back into the earth for healthy growing beds. The goal is not only to practice sustainability, but to educate the community on how to incorporate it into their everyday lives as consumers. By cultivating an earthy, retro, and comfortable atmosphere, the space intends to be inviting and welcoming to all.
